I was up to my neck before I even realized what was happening. The sick, gruesome feeling of clumped mud congealing on my body made my every nerve shudder, and I had been stupid enough to ignore it this long. It was the jungle I traveled in, and I had gazed upon a luscious fruit, plump with juices and dripping with dew. Slowly, I stuck out a parched tongue, hoping to catch a drop of the dripping water, but I failed in my plight. I had traveled for the fruit, walking right into the mud, sinking slowly and not caring, keeping my gaze on the fruit but not willing to fight the force sucking me do
